
Nigerian military officials say the leader of the country’s secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is currently on the run.
According to the A rmy, Kanu reportedly went underground after the Defence Headquarters declared IPOB as a military terrorist organization and the subsequent proscription of its activities by governors from the south – east region of the country.
The Federal Government has filed a suit before an Abuja Federal High Court seeking to revoke the bail earlier granted to Kanu who is standing trial for treason along with three other persons.
Reports say that since Kanu has disappeared, security officials are contemplatings following the legal process by arresting and holding his sureties who stood for him in court responsible.
