
The fight against Boko Haram insurgents experienced a setback over the weekend after a massive explosion from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) killed 4 soldiers.
The soldiers attached to the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kagaruwa near Monguno in Borno State were on a surveillance mission when the IED hit the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in.
According to the military, the incident which occurred at about 8am on Sunday also injured several other military personnel who are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals across the state.
