The Three Lions (England) were flogged by Iceland this evening at the Stade de Nice.

England took the lead with a penalty kick from Wayne Rooney after Raheem Sterling had been fouled in the box 18. Iceland gave them a nice payback 2 minutes later with Ragnar Sigurdsson striking the ball into the net with a volley assist coming from a throwing.

It was 26 year old Kolbeinn Sigthorsson who put Iceland in the lead in the 18th minute. This made it the first time England conceded two goals in the first 18 minutes of the game since their 2007 match against Croatia.

England had a slow build up in the game and just did nothing about the humiliation from the opposition. They practically failed to make any solid opportunities at a come back.
