Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has made what looks like a shocking disclosure. It has 12 million Permanent Voters Cards which are yet to be collected by voters across the country.
This revelation was made today by the Commission’s Deputy Director in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN. He further disclosed that INEC was working out plans to make sure the cards were distributed before the end of 2016.
The distribution he says, would be done alongside continuous voter registration which the commission plans to do after the governorship elections which will hold in Edo and Ondo States this year. However, he revealed that INEC was yet to conclude on the modalities and time frame for the distribution of the PVCs.
