Israel’s Labour Party has postponed its leadership elections which was billed for July 3 at the Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv because it coincides with a scheduled concert by American iconic singer, Britney Spears at a convention centre on the same venue.
According to a spokesman for the Labour Party, the postponement became necessary because there would be insufficient ushers and security guards to simultaneously handle the two events hence the decision to shift the election to the following day.
He said the decision to delay the election was to ease the expected excessive traffic and make it easier for people and delegates to reach the polling station on time.
He also said that the organizers of the events were experiencing difficulties in recruiting security guards to man them.
