In what looks like yet another terrorist attack in Europe, one person has been killed, several others stabbed and another shot in the leg in central Turku, about 150 kilometres west of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
The Finnish Police say they have made one arrest and that security at the Helsinki Airport and train stations have been beefed up even as it warned people to stay away from the city centre in Turku.
A Finnish local tabloid, Ilta-Sanomat reported that six several people were seen lying on the ground. The six –a man and five women including one with a stroller– were injured after they were attacked by a man wielding a large knife.
