Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consolidate and strengthen his cabinet to meet the developmental and economic challenges that lie ahead.
In a welcome message to the President issued through his Special Adviser on Media, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said he expects the President to resume his duties with vigour and assured him of the commitment and support of the National Assembly towards achieving the objectives aimed at improving the living standards of millions of Nigerians.
“We must thank Almighty God for sparing our lives and granting Mr. President a most remarkable recovery. His return marks a new lease of life for this administration. I am confident that Mr. President will resume with even more vigour to pursue the economic agenda that will improve the welfare of all Nigerians.
“In this regard, Mr. President should seize this opportunity to further consolidate and strengthen his team in order to meet the challenges ahead. On our part, the Senate is ready to work closely with the Executive and bend over backwards to support Mr. President. I congratulate all Nigerians on Mr. President’s return,” Saraki said.
While thanking Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his tenacity and hardwork in steering the ship of governance during Buhari’s medical vacation, Saraki also prayed for wisdom and strength for the President to lead the nation successfully.
