Following Tuesday’s clash between Nigerian soldiers and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), security personnel have taken over some parts of Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The security operatives who are mainly men of the Nigerian Police were seen around Timber Junction where the clash reportedly took place, conducting stop-and-search on vehicles and passers-by to forestall a further breakdown of law and order.
Reports say normalcy has however returned to the community after the altercation which lasted for over an hour.
