Barely 48 hours after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai ordered troops deployed in the area to flush out all armed bandits, 10 persons were brutally murdered on Thursday morning when bandits attacked five villages in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Thursday’s attack occurred on the same day that Buratai visited the area and gave soldiers stationed there a 3-week ultimatum to fish out all bandits in the area, which has recorded dozens of attacks in recent months.
Reports say the bandits invaded the communities at about 5.00 am and attacked the villagers in an onslaught which lasted over three and half hours, leaving 10 persons dead in their wake.
The bandits were also said to have burnt houses and food stuff in the affected villages. The villages attacked include Mashigi, Dakwaro, Sabon Gida and another community adjacent to Dakwaro.
