
Suspected hired assassins on Monday shot to death Mr. Ebikinu Okoringa, a newly appointed Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson.
Okoringa, a former Acting Chairman and two-time councillor in Kaima, Kolokuma – Opokuma Local Government Area of the state was reportedly attacked and killed at about 10 pm in his hometown.
Reports say the suspected assassins laid an ambush close to his house and shot him several times immediately he alighted from his car.
Although the motive behind the assassination could not be immediately ascertained, the incident has jolted other cabinet members in Governor Dickson’s administration.
