A Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos has ordered the remand in prison custody of a serving senator and the immediate past governor of the state, Jonah David Jang.
Prior to his ruling, Justice Daniel Longji of the court had rejected a bail application by Jang through his lawyer, Robert Clarke (SAN) and adjourned the case to Thursday, May 24 for a bench ruling on the bail application.
Senator Jang, who currently represents Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly was arraigned on a 12-court charge of alleged corruption and misappropriation of ₦6.3 billion before he vacated office.
Jang was arraigned alongside Yusuf Pam, a one-time cashier in the office of the Secretary to the State Government who allegedly embezzled the sum of ₦11million during his 8-year tenure.
