Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s second nominee to the Supreme Court has been confirmed.
The confirmation process was ridden with allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimonies from both Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who alleged Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.
Senators voted to advance Kavanaugh’s confirmation Friday morning by a 51-49 margin.The final Senate vote was 50-48 margin in favour of confirming Kavanaugh to the highest court in the United States. The vote was constantly interrupted by protesters yelling and being escorted out of the Senate Gallery.
