At least 14 persons were killed while about 17 others were injured on Sunday when some gunmen raided Ungwan Paa-Gwandara village in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A resident of the community who identified himself as Mr. Joshua Paul said the victims were at a wedding ceremony when they were attacked.
“Nine persons were killed on the spot while five died this morning at the Kafanchan General Hospital.
“Seventeen others including six children who suffered severe degrees of bullet injuries are still in critical condition,” Paul said.
Also confirming the report, the Chairman of Jema’a LGA, Mr. Peter Averik said he was yet to be fully briefed on the attack, adding that men of the Nigeria Police had since been deployed to the affected community to bring normalcy.
