At least 40 persons were reportedly killed on Monday in separate attacks on two communities located in Shinkafi and Anka Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The attacks, which came barely two days after Governor Abdul Aziz Yari ordered security agencies to deal ruthlessly with all bandits in the state has also threatened the forthcoming gubernatorial and State Assembly elections in the state.

The bandits, who  stormed the communities on motorcycles were said have razed several houses and looted property running into millions of naira.
