The Super Eagles have been drawn alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi in Group B of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Egypt between June and July.

The draw which was conducted by the continent’s football governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in front of the Great Pyramids in the Egyptian capital, Cairo also saw a number of African football legends in attendance.

The draw is historic in its own right, as it heralds the first time that twenty-four teams would be competing and in a competition taking place mid-year, away from the traditional January – February.

In other groups of the draw, hosts, Egypt will slug it out with the Democratic republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe in Group A while Group C has Senegal, Algeria, Kenya and Tanzania.

Group D is unarguably the proverbial group of death as North African giants, the Atlas Lions of Morocco were drawn to face the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Namibia.

Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Angola are in Group E while the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, the Black Stars of Ghana, Benin and Guinea Bissau will trade tackles in Group F.
