Nigerian musician, Damini Ogulu popularly called Burna Boy has won the African Artiste of the Year Award at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) which was held on Saturday night inside the new dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The 28-year-old Burna Boy overcame stiff competition from fellow Nigerian artistes, Davido and Wizkid, Ghana’s Mr. Eazi, South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest and Sauti Soul to win the award.
Mr. Eazi took home two awards namely the Afro Pop Song Of The Year for ‘Akwaaba’ which featured Guilty Beats, Patapaa, Pappy Kojo and Best African Collaboration Of The Year’, also with Guilty Beats, Patapaa, Pappy Kojo.
