The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has sacked all local government political appointees in the state.
According to a three-paragraph letter released on Monday, those affected are Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Secretaries to Local Governments and Supervisory Councillors.
Earlier this month, Governor Obaseki had sacked over 300 political appointees in what many believed to be a move to sweep fifth columnists and disloyal appointees out of his administration.
Four council chairmen, Eghe Ogbemudia (Egor), Hon. Patrick Aguinede (Esan West), Alhaji Yakson Musa (Etsako West) and Alhaji Aremiyau Momoh (Etsako East) were suspended for alleged corrupt activities.
