The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the election of Mr. Nasir El-Rufai as governor of Kaduna state in a unanimous judgement.
The judgment was delivered by Justice Centus Nweze.
The appellant, Mr Isa Ashiru of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had filed a suit challenging the election at the Kaduna State Governorship Election Tribunal . The case subsequently moved on to the Court of Appeal before landing at the Supreme Court.
The apex court in its ruling said the case against El–Rufai lacked merit and therefore dismissed it.
