President Muhammadu Buhari today had a closed-door meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila arrived at the State House for the meeting at about 3.00 pm.
Briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, Gbajabiamila said the National Assembly leaders discussed the nation’s security with President Buhari.
He said the President was worried about the rise in the level of insecurity in the country. He also said the calls from various quarters for the sack of the nation’s security chiefs was discussed at the meeting. He however claimed that opinions on the sacking of the service chiefs were still divided.
