About 16 members of the same family were burnt to death by bandits who invaded Bakali village in Fatika District of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday.
The bandits were said to have invaded the predominantly Hausa community at about 4.oopm and started shooting sporadically.
The spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, Muhammed Jalige has however said the police is yet to ascertain the number of people killed in the attack.
He however disclosed that a team of policemen have been deployed to the area to ascertain how the incident occurred and restore calm in the area.
