Senate President, Ahmed Lawan

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday asked the leadership of the National Assembly to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and the country’s military chiefs over the recent killings by Boko Haram in the north.

The resolution followed a point of order moved by Senator Abubakar Kyari (Borno North) on the recent killings in his constituency perpetuated by Boko Haram insurgents.

More than 70 people were killed in an attack by Boko Haram insurgents at Faduma Kolomdi village in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State on Tuesday.
