President Donald Trump admitted on Tuesday that the coronavirus will get worse in the United States before getting better.
In a press conference that lasted about 30 minutes, Trump said he believed the virus would disappear and insisted the American response to the pandemic was “much better” than in other places.
“It will probably unfortunately get worse before it gets better,” Trump said.
The American president also advised young people against crowding in bars and spreading the disease.
Trump tried to make a case for the wearing of face-masks, pulling one out after months of suggesting that mask-wearing was a political statement against him.
“Whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact,” he said.
