Mrs Oladunni Adewuyi is an accomplished accountant turned distinguished educator. Out of a strong passion for children education she, in the year 2009, founded the classy Riverside Montessori School located on a serene terrain of OPIC Estate, Isheri on the outskirts of Lagos. Today, that venture has grown into a group of schools–Riverside Schools–with Mrs Adewuyi as Director of Studies.

This uniquely enterprising woman is  an accountant by training. She had her primary and secondary education at Grange School Ikeja and Government College, Ikorodu, both in Lagos State. She attended Ogun State Polytechnic and the University of Benin where she studied Accounting.

Upon graduation, she was engaged at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Akintola Williams Deloitte & Touché). Mrs. Adewuyi excelled in the Accounting profession, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in record time and later joined Devcom Bank Ltd where she rose to the position of Financial Controller before a brief stint at Friesland Foods as a Senior Internal Auditor. These experiences prepared her for the administrative aspect of her present role.

Being an astute and detailed individual who never leaves any stone unturned, she recognized she had to acquire professional knowledge to successfully run a school. She therefore enrolled for and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Lagos. She also has an International Montessori Diploma from the Centre for Montessori Education, Lagos.

She has attended several seminars, workshops and conferences in the United Kingdom, United States of America and within the African continent. These experiences served as the impetus to grow Riverside Schools into a household name and reference point when it comes to 21st century teaching and learning  and raising global citizens and innovative problem solvers.

A strong advocate for the inclusion of core skills in the teaching and learning process, the soft spoken, diligent and dogged woman strongly believes that children MUST be considered first at all times and an ideal teacher should BE DISCIPLINED & THOROUGH. She is a life coach, counsellor, mother to all who come across her and mentor to several youths, teachers and school owners.

Today, Riverside is a group of fast growing schools located in an environment that is considered by many as “home away from home”.

Aside from running Riverside Schools, Mrs Adewuyi currently sits on the boards of Aliyah Agric Ventures Ltd., Binomial Properties Ltd. & Fragrance Trail Ventures. Her latest project is Maidens of Hope Foundation, an NGO set up to improve the lot of young ladies by funding their education and equipping them with skills for a better life.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the field of Management, Development and Delivery of Quality Education that Mrs Oladunni Adewuyi was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the PSR National Awards.
