Gunmen have attacked the staff quarters of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Kaduna.
The incident occurred on Saturday, but the police authorities in the state have yet to confirm the attack.
One of the victims, who is a member of staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), was kidnapped along with his wife, five children, and three other persons who had visited them.
Also, the wife and child of an employee of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) were kidnapped during the attack.
Eyewitnesses say the cry from the victims had attracted the military personnel nearby who reacted by engaging the bandits in a gun battle.
The face-off was said to have lasted for hours, but the bandits eventually made away with the victims on motorcycles.
