India recorded its highest single-day toll of 4,529 Covid deaths. The country recorded 2,67,334 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total case tally in the country to 2,54,96,330, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.

The active cases have further reduced to 32,26,719 comprising 12.66 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 86.23 percent.

As many as 3,89,851 discharges have been made in the last 24 hours, which is more than the daily cases reported.
