The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, declined granting bail to Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)who is being prosecuted for corruption by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Justice Obiora Egwuatu, in a ruling on Tuesday, ordered that Ojerinde be kept in a correctional facility pending the hearing of his bail application which is scheduled for July 8.
The former chief executive officer of JAMB is the sole defendant in the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/97/21 bordering on alleged misappropriation of about N900 million.
Ojerinde allegedly perpetrated the fraud as JAMB’s Registrar from April 10, 2012 to August 1, 2016 and as Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO) between 1999 and 2007.
