The Supreme Court has set May 9 as the date for delivering its judgment on the appeal filed by former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, against the election of Ademola Adeleke.
Oyetola is seeking the reversal of the March 25 verdict of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which upheld Adeleke’s victory in the last Osun State gubernatorial election.
In the earlier ruling, the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had voided Adeleke’s victory. However, the appellate court reversed the tribunal’s verdict following an appeal lodged by Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have since taken the matter to the Supreme Court, which has adjourned the case for judgment after all parties adopted their final arguments.
