President Bola Tinubu convened a crucial meeting with the nation’s service chiefs on Thursday at the State House in Abuja, marking his initial interaction with the heads of security and intelligence agencies since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
The meeting, which follows a long-standing tradition in previous administrations, saw the attendance of esteemed individuals including Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; and Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
In addition, Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, were also present at this significant gathering.
