The verdict for Nigeria’s contentious 2023 presidential election is set to arrive on Wednesday, September 6th according to the Court of Appeal.

Registrar Umar Bangari confirmed to news outlets that the Presidential Election Petition Court will publicly deliver its judgement, allowing media broadcast.

The Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party and Allied Peoples Movement have petitioned to nullify President Bola Tinubu’s victory. Their presidential candidates argue the election was critically flawed.

In addition to the presidential case, election tribunals in 25 states will issue rulings on legal challenges stemming from governorship, legislative and state assembly contests.

Opposition parties across Nigeria are disputing results declared by the electoral commission (INEC) in the majority of states that held elections. They allege widespread irregularities compromising the outcomes.
