The Olubadan-In-Council has announced the nomination of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. The nomination comes following the vacancy left by the passing of Oba Lekan Balogun on Thursday, March 14, 2024, after a two-year reign.
The decision to appoint Oba Olakulehin as the next Olubadan was reached during a meeting convened by the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, in the Oyo State capital, Ibadan. The Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe endorsed the nomination, marking a significant step in the traditional selection process.
Oba Olakulehin’s nomination is subject to approval by the state governor, Seyi Makinde.
