Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved a new minimum wage of N75,000 for state civil servants, selecting the highest option from three proposals presented by labor representatives.
The state’s Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman, Murtala Usman, confirmed the development, revealing that the union had proposed three different figures: N72,000, N73,000, and N75,000, noting that the governor opted for the highest amount.
Implementation of the new wage structure is set to begin immediately, with Governor Idris directing that October salaries incorporating the new minimum wage should be paid within 72 hours.
