President Bola Tinubu has announced the operationalisation of new Nigerian Army formations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Oyo and Osun states to strengthen security and improve response to threats against vulnerable communities.

Tinubu, in a statement, said the military was also fast-tracking the construction of new barracks and depots in Abuja, Ekiti, Ebonyi and Kogi states, while the project in Osun had been completed.

The President said the recent salary increase for military personnel was making a positive difference to servicemen, women and their families.

He stressed the need to support military personnel and their families, noting that deployments also required sacrifices from their loved ones.

Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment, as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to ensuring that the military had the resources and support needed to protect the country.
