The Police Force Headquarters in Abuja says it did not deploy its men to provide security for the embattled Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof. Yusuf Usman.
Force Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, who made this known to journalists on Monday said that the Force Headquarters does not engage in the deployment of its personnel for such operations.
Jimoh also claimed ignorance over the huge number of police personnel that accompanied Usman to the NHIS headquarters in Abuja following protests over his planned resumption of duty despite his suspension.
His words: “I don’t have any information about the policemen who accompanied the NHIS Executive Secretary to his office because they are not from the Force Headquarters.
“We don’t deploy men for such operations, the FCT, commands does because it’s in their jurisdiction so I advice you get in touch with the command.”
