Many Nigerians are aware of the name, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, better known by its abbreviation, ISIS. What they might never have imagined however is the possibility of ISIS winning over their children and turning them into jihadists.
Well, the Federal Government has raised a note of warning to Nigerians that there is a new mobile application in circulation which ISIS has deployed to lure innocent people, particularly children, into embracing their jihadist ideas.
Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, in a press statement yesterday named the mobile application as “Huroof” (Arabic alphabet or letters). According to him, ISIS intends to teach children the Arabic alphabet using guns, military tanks and cannons for illustrations. “The application utilises colourful illustrations that attract and engage the attention of young children,” he said.
