The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has said that any person under the constitutionally-recognized age of 18 caught trying to vote in the forthcoming elections in Nigeria will be arrested.
Prof. Yakubu issued the warning on Friday afternoon while fielding questions from stakeholders during the Commission’s daily briefing on its level of preparedness for the polls.
The INEC boss therefore advised parents to prevent their wards who were not up to the legal voting age from engaging in such illegal acts as they would be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.
