The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Saturday file out against defending champions, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in one if the Round of 16 matches of the ongoing African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) holding in Egypt.
The Eagles who finished second behind Madagascar in Group B will take on the Lions who also finished behind the Black Stars of Ghana in Group F despite not conceding a goal at the Alexandria Stadium
In other Round of 16 fixtures, the Cranes of Uganda who finished in second place behind Egypt in Group A will face Senegal’s Teranga Lions in Cairo on Friday while Group D winners, Morocco’s Atlas Lions face Benin Republic also in Cairo.
On Sunday, surprise Group B winners, Madagascar will trade tackles against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Alexandria even as Group C winners, the Desert Warriors of Algeria lock horns with Guinea.
In another crunch encounter, Mali will take on West African rivals, the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in Suez on Monday while Ghana takes on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia later the same day at the Ismaili Stadium.
Should the Eagles make it past the Lions, they will meet the winners of the match between hosts, Pharoahs of Egypt and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa which will be played on Saturday in Cairo.
