Nigerian Senate President, Ahmed Lawan says the Senate will receive the list of ministerial nominees from President Muhammadu Buhari this week for consideration and possible approval.
He said this during Wednesday’s plenary, adding that the Executive arm of government was working towards ensuring that the list was ready before the lawmakers proceed on their annual two-month recess.
Reacting to a point of order raised by Senator Bassey Akpan to the effect that the delay in the submission of the list could affect senators’ holidays, Lawan assured that President Buhari would submit the list to the Red Chambers before the week runs out.
He further expressed confidence that the list of nominees would be screened before the annual vacation which commences on July 26.
