President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia for the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Heads of State and Governments of the African Union.
He was received by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali and other dignitaries.
President Buhari left Abuja Friday evening and he is expected back in Nigeria on Wednesday.
During the summit, he will take part in the 29th Forum of Heads of State and Governments of Participating States of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and the 27th Session of New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Heads of State and Governments Orientation Committee (AUDA-NEPAD).
President Buhari travelled to Ethiopia in company with Governors Ben Ayade and Hope Uzodinma of Cross River and Imo States respectively.
Also with the President are Messrs Geoffrey Onyeama (Minister Foreign Affairs), Hadi Sirika (Minister of Aviation), Niyi Adebayo (Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment), Retired Major-General Bashir Salihi Magashi (Minister of Defence) and Lai Mohammed (Minister of Information and Culture).
Other government officials on Buhari’s entourage are the National Security Adviser (NSA), Retired Major-General Babagana Monguno, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Abubakar, and the National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer of NEPAD (Nigeria), Mrs Gloria Akobundu.
