Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria, has confirmed 10 new cases of the coronavirus, COVID-19.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, announced this new development via his twitter handle.
#Nigeria has recorded 10 new cases of #COVID19 in Lagos and FCT.
That is a total of 22 cases in #Nigeria: Lagos 16, FCT 3, Ekiti 1 & Ogun 2. 2 have been discharged.

The Minister of health further said that all infected are Nigerians, 9 returning from Canada, France, Netherlands, Spain & UK, and 1 a close contact of a known case.
He also said that cases recorded in Abuja are being treated at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. Lagos infections are being treated at Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
“All ten new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving treatment,” he said.
The Minister also said that contact tracing is ongoing to identify all persons who have been in contact with the confirmed cases.
This brings the total number of cases in the country to 22. Fortunately for Nigeria, no death has been recorded yet from the deadly virus.
