The Federal House of Representatives on Thursday rejected an amendment seeking to castrate convicted rapists in Nigeria.
The House at plenary rejected the motion which was earlier recommended by a member, Mr James Faleke. Faleke had recommended that persons found guilty of rape should be castrated.
A majority of lawmakers shot down the prayer, as Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila put it to a voice vote.
