The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended the reopening of worship centres in the state indefinitely.
The governor announced this decision at a press briefing on Tuesday. He said he gave this directive to check the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the state.
Sannwo-Olu had earlier said that mosques could reopen on June 19, while churches could re-open on June 21 under strict guidelines.
With 7,319 cases, 1,137 recoveries and 82 deaths, Lagos remains the epicentre of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria.
