Security operatives have surrounded the home of former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joi Nunieh, in Port Harcourt.
Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike moved to intervene in the stand-off.
Joi Nunieh who is due to appear before a House of Representatives Committee in Abuja today raised alarm that her home in Port Harcourt had been surrounded by armed police officers and therefore she would not be able to travel to Abuja to appear before the lawmakers.
She however will be making a presentation virtually via zoom.
Ms Nunieh has accused the Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, of corruption in the management of the NDDC. She also accused him of sexually harassing her. The minister has vehemently denied the allegations.
