Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that Senator Kamala Harris will be his vice presidential candidate and running mate in the US November election.
Joe Biden made this announcement via his official twitter handle.
I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.

Biden’s pick makes Harris the first Black woman to run for US vice president . Already, she is the second Black woman ever to be in the US Senate.
The long-anticipated announcement comes less than a week before the Democratic National Convention which will be from August 17 to 20.
Kamala Harris was first elected in 2016 after serving as California’s Attorney General and, before that, San Francisco’s District Attorney. A native of Oakland, California, she is the child of Jamaican and Indian immigrants.
