White House Physician, Navy Cmdr. Dr Sean Conley has said the US President, Donald Trump is doing “very well” in hospital. The President was flown in a helicopter yesterday evening from the White House to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre so he could be treated for COVID-19 infection.
Conley’s disclosure was contained in a memo which was shared by White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany.
Conley wrote: “This evening I am happy to report that the President is doing very well. He is not requiring any supplementary oxygen, but in consultation with specialists we have elected to initiate Remdesivir therapy. He has completed his first dose and is resting comfortably.”
Remdesivir when administered on a corona virus patient is believed to shorten the time he stays admitted in hospital.
The expectation of the medical team at Walter Reed therefore is that Trump’s condition will stabilize quickly for him to actively return to work.
