Gunmen have attacked a police station in Ehime Mbano, Okigwe South Local Government Area of Imo State, killing five officers while one officer is said to be missing.
The attackers stormed the police facility at about 7p.m. and opened fire. They released suspects in custody in the police facility.
Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the attack. He however added that the building itself was not set on fire.
This incident comes two days after gunmen invaded the country home of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
