Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced that the commencement of construction for the long-anticipated 37km Fourth Mainland Bridge is expected by the end of March or April.
Speaking at the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting in Ikeja on Thursday, the governor revealed that extensive work had been done on the bridge, and financing for the project had been secured.
Sanwo-Olu outlined that the construction would be carried out in phases, starting from Abraham Adesanya Junction to the Badore Waterfront in the first phase. He assured compensation for those affected by the project, emphasizing the need for creative financing to facilitate the groundbreaking within the first quarter. The subsequent phases will extend to Ikorodu and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
