President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to attend the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on Sunday.
He will depart Abuja for Rome on Saturday, accompanied by Catholic priests and government officials. The visit follows an official invitation from the Pontiff.
The inauguration event is expected to attract heads of state, diplomats, religious leaders, and dignitaries from across the globe.
The invitation to President Tinubu was conveyed through Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, according to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
