President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The president, accompanied by ministers, special advisers, and other senior government officials, is scheduled to participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20 to 22.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu will attend plenary sessions and hold bilateral meetings with Japanese government officials, as well as engage with chief executive officers of Japanese companies with existing or potential investments in Nigeria.
Following the conference, Tinubu will proceed to Brasilia, Brazil, for a two-day state visit from August 24 to 25 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
While in Brazil, he is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Lula and participate in a business forum aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
