The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore bail in the sum of N200 million in his ongoing cybercrime trial.

Justice Muhammad Umar ordered Sowore to produce two sureties—a traditional ruler from his community and a landed property owner in Abuja—both to be verified by the prosecution. He was also directed to deposit his international passport with the court.

Sowore is being prosecuted by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly describing President Bola Tinubu as “a criminal” in social media posts. He had previously been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre after his earlier self-recognition bail was revoked over his absence from court.
