Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named the winner of the 2025 Men’s Ballon d’Or, while Barcelona star Aitana Bonmatí claimed the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the third consecutive year at a glittering ceremony in Paris on Monday.

The event, held at the Théâtre du Châtelet, recognised the game’s standout performers over the 2024–25 season.

Dembélé capped off a remarkable year with PSG, leading the club to its first-ever UEFA Champions League title and domestic double. He beat Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal and teammate Vitinha to the award. The Frenchman’s consistency and decisive performances on the biggest stage made this his first career Ballon d’Or win.

Bonmatí cemented her status as one of the all-time greats in women’s football, taking home the award for a third straight year. Her leadership and creativity drove Barcelona to continued dominance in Spain and Europe, making her the most decorated player in the women’s category.

  • Kopa Trophy (Best Young Player, Men): Lamine Yamal (Barcelona).

  • Yashin Trophy (Best Goalkeeper, Men): Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG).

  • Yashin Trophy (Best Goalkeeper, Women): Hannah Hampton (Chelsea).

  • Men’s Club of the Year: Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Women’s Club of the Year: Arsenal.

For Dembélé, the Ballon d’Or marks a long-awaited personal triumph, fulfilling the potential that had once been clouded by injuries. For Bonmatí, her third straight title reinforces her reputation as the defining figure of modern women’s football.
